La Best Strawberry Chocolate Ice Cream

It's already 2013! How time flies! It's been a year of blogging! It's just now as I am typing that I realized that it's my anniversary as a blogger! Happy anniversary to me! Thank You for all of my followers which are mostly my friends, relatives and co-bloggers! Kidding aside, to all who have been browsing Stylestat... from the bottom of my heart! Thank You very much! I hope you will still continue to visit my blog as I will try my best to blog more often!

As the start of the year, I hope you all had great Holiday Vacation, get together and hopefully rest! I was away during the later part of the Holiday Season and I want to share with you some of my experience. I actually went to Korea, K-Pop it is! But for this post, I would like to share with you some Korean treats that I tried during my short visit at K-Land!

Though it was freezingly cold! Our family still always try to grab some Ice Cream on our travels, so here's my Ice Cream experience at Korea! haha By the way, it didn't made us feel colder so ice cream lang ng ice cream! My sister in law is my Ice Cream guru every time we go abroad together. She introduced La Best Ice Cream to me and I chose Strawberry flavor as it looked yummy! It was available in other flavors too like Chocolate.

What sets apart La Best Ice Cream is that it is coated chocolate strawberry while others are coated with chocolate only. Look at the strawberry bits from the coated chocolate strawberry!

It tastes very strawberry, specially the ice cream. The chocolate strawberry coating was sweet but it was manageable. The ice cream inside was very creamy and not that sweet. Over all, this is Love! I hope to find this here in the Philippines. What's great about La Best is that it does not melt easily ( by the way, we were in the room with heater while we ate La Best).  I super love this Ice Cream!

Here are some more treats that I was able to take pictures.. I had so much fun that I was not able to document the other treats that I tried.

I was actually choosing what yougurt drink to buy but I ended up getting this. This is actually flavored milk. It taste light milky but the flavors strawberry and choclate are very much flavorful! Lasang lasa talaga yung mga flavors! It's not super sweet which I like! I am sure that children will love this type of milk! Bagay yata ang taste palette ko with Korean foods! haha!!

Lastly, I want to share with you this Ice Cream that I tried when we were at Nami Island (where they shot Winter Sonata). This is very creamy! Ang sarap talaga! And since we were in a freezingly super duper cold place, it didn't melt and looked like a frozen ice cream. haha!

I am looking forward to a great 2013 ahead of us!

Selecta Gold Caramel Cheesecake

Ice Cream is a very popular and widely eaten comfort food here in the Philippines. Filipinos are fund of celebrating all kinds of occasions from birthdays, despedidas or just a self made occastion just to bond with family, office mates and friends. What's the connection? With all these celebrations, ice creams have always been a part of it. We also turn to ice cream when we feel stressed, sad or just want to eat something cold due to our hot weather. It's also very ironic that I see a lot of people still eating ice cream even when the weather is cool. I do also love eating ice cream and I wanted to try Selecta Gold Caramel Cheescake when I saw their TV commercial. What I liked more about it is that they tied up with Annie Tanco of Bizu for the cheesecake.

 My verdict:
  • It is really creamy! It's not your usual ice cream.
  • Not too sweet.
  • It has the right caramel taste which is also not too sweet.
  • There are big chunks of cheesecake which I can say is a real cheesecake. It is cheese base and not cream base only.
  • The cheesecakes are very intact together and does not crumb.
  • It is really premium.
I think that it is really great! I love cheescake and ice cream and when they are put together...... it's heavenly!
It also affordable for a premium ice cream. It only costs Php 40 on your leading supermarkets. It can really be the best alternative for the premium brands like Haagen Daz, Dreyer's or Ben and Jerry's.

Check out their commercial.

Magnum

Magnum craze is really all over the metro! Of course, I won't let it pass by not experiencing the craze (hindi ako magpapahuli)! haha So here's my back log experience about Magnum! hehe

Here in the Philippines, Magnum is available in 3 flavors (Classic, Almond and Truffle). Upon learning about Magnum, I immediately researched where can I get one. At first, it was really hard to look for this awesome product since it was always sold out! Gosh! (This will be the best example for the word of mouth campagin.) But lately, you will be able to search for this product easily except for the Truffle flavor.

I got both Classic and Almond flavors (haha! I shared it naman noh hehe)
Let's start with Classic flavor:

  • The chocolate coating is very tasty! It really taste as a real chocolate and not your ordinary sweet tasting dips.
  • The Vanilla ice cream inside has a marshmallow like texture and it is really good! As in good! haha It is not too sweet! Just right sweetness.

Almond flavor:
(Just want to share with you, I am not fund of nuts in ice cream and chocolates)

  • The almond is placed in the chocolate dip. It is Almond Caramel coating, it is not hard even with the presence of the Almond. Surprisingly, I liked it!
  • The ice cream inside is the same with Classic, it's vanilla flavor.
  • Good blending of vanilla ice cream and almond caramel coating. Surprisingly! This is really good! I prefer this flavor than the classic! Like Like Like!!!
Each cost Php 50.00 in your leading supermarkets!
P.S. Where can I get Truffle flavor?

Share me your Magnum experience too. :)
